Meta wants to turn Muse into a moneymaker by selling AI services to businesses

Meta is launching the Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business unit that sells AI tools to companies. Meta says the initial lineup includes the Muse agent, the Meta Business Agent, the Muse API, and Muse Code. Chirantan Desai, previously CEO of the database company MongoDB, will lead the unit and report directly to Mark Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg says Meta has strengths that few other companies can match, including advanced models, leading agents, and massive infrastructure. According to the Wall Street Journal, Meta is spending more than $100 billion on AI infrastructure this year alone, and investors want to see a return.

In the enterprise market, Meta is up against coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, as well as cheap Chinese open-weight models. Meta hasn't said yet exactly how the business will work or what the services will cost.
